After traveling through the departments of Dagana and Podor, the delegation of Smart Sénégal was received this Friday, October 16, 2020 by the Governor of Saint-Louis. After discussions in his office, an information and sharing session was organized at the prefecture with the participation of several state structures established in Saint-Louis and the Administration Modernization Support Program (PAMA). The session chaired by the deputy prefect of Saint Louis, allowed the Director General of the State IT Agency (ADIE) Mr. Cheikh Bakhoum to explain the contours of the program Smart Sénégal, the achievements in the city of Saint-Louis and the program's expectations regarding structures to finalize the work in this department.
Different components of Smart Sénégal are implemented in Saint-Louis. " The program Smart Sénégal is a program that we appreciate at its true value because it comes at its right time, at a time when we are talking about modernization of the Administration” indicated the deputy prefect of Saint-Louis, Madame Ndioro Sarr .
“These infrastructures will facilitate access to social services for citizens. At the end of the work, citizens will feel satisfied with the services provided to them,” according to the Deputy Prefect.
In terms of security, several surveillance cameras have been installed in strategic locations in the city. The work on the command center has been finalized and the equipment is operational. The commissioning of this center will allow defense and security forces to have better visibility in the territory and fully play their role through the anticipation of certain events and good coordination of actions on the ground. “It allows us to have good visibility and a good anticipation policy. These cameras also help us to go back when we want to check certain situations. A clear example: a case of accident took place at the front of the UGB on October 14, all the circumstances which caused the accident have been clarified. If you view the images, everything becomes clear. » said Divisional Commissioner Becaye Diarra, Central Commissioner of Saint-Louis, Head of the regional public security service. He adds that “the Defense and Security Forces for whom this room was installed will really be able to benefit from it.”
“The city of Saint Louis has a part not yet covered” said the police commissioner who did not fail to invite the municipality to facilitate the deployment of the remaining cameras. “We hope that the municipal authorities and the Ministry of Culture will help us finalize the installation of the cameras.”
For proper use of the tools deployed, the Director General of ADIE Mr. Cheikh Bakhoum assures that training is planned for “all the structures which will participate in the management of this command center, in the management of Generally safe city.”

We signed an agreement today with Smart Education. All the equipment has been put in place and this project is starting to operate at Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis. We are delighted with this very important project for our university, we really needed it to strengthen teaching on the educational and social campus. »
In the presence of the Coordinator of the Support Program for the Modernization of the Administration (PAMA) Mr. Amadou Diallo and the coordinator of component 2 of the PAMA “Improving the quality of services” Mr. Cheikh Fall Mbaye, Program Director Smart Sénégal Mr. Cheikh Bakhoum visited the Senegal Service space site, the progress of which is 85%.
Mr. Amadou Diallo is of the opinion that these Senegal Services spaces respond to a concern for territorial equity. “With the Senegal Services spaces, we will be able to have services delivered at the decentralized level. Which will benefit Senegalese people from all countries. We are satisfied with everything we have seen today... The entire mission entrusted to us by the President of the Republic is to see how to improve the service offering, how to enable the Senegalese who is inside the country to benefit from the service at lower cost and within reduced delays. »
For its part ; Mr. Cheikh Fall Mbaye believes that this instrument will allow better quality of service. “With the creation of these Senegal Services spaces, the modernization of the Administration is really underway. This is what we seek to do within the framework of the PAMA with component 2 which concerns improving the quality of services to users”.
